I've lived in Wanniassa for more than 20 years, but I've never walked up Mount Wanniassa, which is actually closer to Fadden than Wanniassa, but anyway...On a chilly Sunday afternoon I thought I'd go for a walk up there. I started from Mugga Lane, where I parked alongside the people that like to walk up the back of Isaacs. From there, it was a gradual hill; first up a bush-type trail, then a fire trail. After a bit of dithering, I decided to walk up to the trig. There was a pretty steep ascent, which then levelled out to a nice walk up to the summit.
I even saw a little rock wallaby and some kangaroos along the way.
The view was very nice, though the cold wind made sure I didn't stay up there too long. I may need to go up again!

Mount Wanniassa
Elevation - 810m.
Distance walked - 3.26km
Time to trig - about 25 minutes (15-20 for a fitter person!).
Difficulty - easy-medium. There is one steepish bit, but a pretty easy walk from the Isaacs side. I think it might be harder from the Fadden side. Will try next time.
Best part - the amazing view and my first trig! There were a few kangaroos and wallabies too.
